Wooden Satyr

Lacquered wooden sculpture depicting a 'Satyr' of Ligurian origin, dating from the middle part of the 18th century. A very plastic element of great emotional impact, its posture suggests that it could have been used as a support for a balustrade or other architectural element. Undoubtedly part of a larger architectural element.
