Terracotta bust of great pathos, depicting Cosimo II dei Medici (Florence 1590-1621) Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1605 to 1621, executed by a Tuscan master................

The work is based on the porphyry sculpture executed by Tommaso Fedeli (1599-1658) and preserved in the entrance hall of the Uffizi. Various celebratory busts of the Grand Duke were executed in other materials in the 17th century by many artists including Giovan Battista Caccini (1556-1613) and Chiarissimo Fancelli (1588-1632) height 90 cm.
