Pair of Moretti in semi-precious stones and black African marble, signed 'Nardini', from Lombardy, dating from the last quarter of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
Nardini was a Milanese goldsmith who worked during the 'belle époque' period of the late 19th century (around 1880-1910). These works of art depict individuals with distinctive features, turbans and colourful clothing.
The turban is made of rhodochrosite and red marble with turquoise, ivory and malachite plumes. The half-bust is in lapis lazuli, the band in rhodochrosite and malachite the buttons in ivory and malachite and the bodice in rhodochrosite and ivory.
The faces and the base are in black African marble.
