The saint stands on a cloud base, wears an ochre cloak over a light green tunic and is barefoot. He holds a child in his arms with his arms wide open, and they exchange loving glances. Next to St Joseph, below, is a putto with his right hand presumably holding a candle. This exceptional sculpture in the round comes from a private collection in Milan.
