Elia Ajolfi 1916 – 2001

Iron sculpture depicting an Owl, of Lombard origin, Bergamo area, dating from the second half of the last century, made by Elia Ajolfi. Ajolfi was born as a 'modeller' in the workshop of his father, a master plasterer, the same workshop where Manzù frequented as a boy at the time of his Bergamasque beginnings. Ajolfi's nature is not an expressionist nature but, on the contrary, a living nature without the intrigue of sophism.

.....Ajolfi is a sculptor rightly depicted by Henry Moore as 'a typical Italian bronze artist'.
