Marble sculpture depicting bust of Emperor Hadrian in white statuary and alabaster, Roman provenance dating from the second half of the 18th century. In the second half of the 18th century, the production of small sculptures in imitation of famous classical examples became popular, characterised by their high quality of execution and appearance, using antique salvaged marble, in great demand on the market and by Grand Tour travellers.
