18th-century sculpture of a golden Moor

18th-century sculpture of a golden Moor

Elegant gilded wooden sculpture depicting a Moorish figure. The provenance is Venetian, Venetian area dating from the late second half of the 18th century.

The sculpture in the round in poplar wood, polychrome and gilded, is fully in the repertoire of traditional Venetian folk sculpture. The Moorish figure with turban raises his hands to the sky, probably holding a vase basket.

Lacquered faux-marble plinth base.
